Extensions are a safe procedure, but there are conditions under which it is better to postpone or discuss them with your artist first. Check yourself against the list.
- A cold. Flu-like symptoms and a runny nose mean two to three uncomfortable hours on the couch, and watery eyes interfere with adhesive bonding. Wait until you recover — the result will be better.
- Eye and eyelid conditions. Conjunctivitis, demodex and other inflammations are a direct contraindication: the procedure can worsen them. Come back only after full recovery.
- Very oily skin. Not a ban, but retention on oily lids is noticeably shorter — sebum weakens the bond. Discuss suitable materials and care with your artist.
- Individual intolerance. Allergy to adhesive components or prep products is rare but real. If you react to cosmetics, tell your artist in advance.
- Very sensitive eyes. If keeping your eyes calmly closed is hard, the procedure takes longer and the risk of irritation from adhesive fumes is higher.
Not sure whether extensions are right for you? A consultation is part of every visit — ask the artist all your questions; it costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
